Gently clean your Ruby in warm mild soapy water or use a warm soapy lint-free cloth or soft bristle toothbrush. Do not soak your Ruby or use harsh detergents. Rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry using a clean, soft cloth. Rubies are very durable with a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale (Diamond is 10) but should be stored separately in your jewellery box to avoid scratches from Diamonds or scratching softer gemstones.
