The gemstone has a long history of use as a talisman for fertility, love, protection and sleep. Moonstone is rated at 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale (Diamond is 10). To care for your Moonstone, gently clean using mild soap and warm water (not hot), using a soft cloth. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Store in a soft cloth or velvet pouch in a separate compartment of your jewellery box, away from other jewellery, to avoid scratches.
