Care for your gemstone
Lapis lazuli is quite a soft gemstone rated at between 5 and 6 on the gemstone hardness scale (Diamond is 10). Sensitive to heat, sunlight and chemicals, lapis lazuli is also porous so should not be left in water for any length of time. To safely care for your gemstone, occasional cleaning with lukewarm water, the mildest soap and a soft smooth cloth is recommended. Dry immediately with an additional soft smooth cloth.
Store your lapis ring in a cool place with silica gel bags to keep your gemstone moisture free and away from other jewellery to avoid damage to the soft stone.
