Garnets are very durable and reasonably scratch resistant rated at 6.5-7.5 on the gemstone hardness scale. However, care should be taken to avoid dropping on to a hard surface. Care for your stone by occasionally washing gently with warm soapy water. Avoid contact with solvent or petroleum based cleaning products.
